Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q1. What time is the PERFORMANCE SHOWCASE on Friday?
  • A1. The showcases starts at 4 PM. It typically runs between 60 and 90 minutes in length.

However, this is all dependent upon how many campers we have.

Everyone deserves their time to shine!
  • Q2. What if my child/children can't attempt camp all 5 days?
  • A2. We do NOT pro-rate our fees based on attendance. If your child can make at least 4 days, they should be prepared for the showcase (and for a load of fun!)
  • Q3. What do you do to ensure that my camper is safe?
  • A3. This will be the 9th year of YAY Camp (in 2010) and we take the safety of our campers and staff extremely seriously.

We typically have two full time WCS teachers at the school during all camp hours, as well as parent volunteers. The counselors and campers stay, for the most part, in one area of the school. The teachers and parents are constantly making rounds!

The camp also takes place during office hours so the front office staff is also present.
  • Q4. Who are the class instructors?
  • A4. Current Independence High School theater students are the instructors (rising sophomores through just graduated seniors). We feel that kids teaching kids make our camp unique (and fun). Your camper could be an instructor one day!
  • Q5. How does pick-up/drop-off work?
  • A5. All campers need to be signed in each day between 8:30 & 9, and signed out each afternoon at 3:00 (campers will not be released until 3pm). Please do not park in the bus lane.
